About Acc. Dr Sci. Semir Sam Osmanagich, PhD.

Acc. Dr Sci. Semir Sam Osmanagich, PhD. is a Bosnian-American scientist, independent researcher, author, and entrepreneur, and the founder of the non-profit foundation Archaeological Park: Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun, headquartered in Visoko, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

For more than four decades, he has dedicated his work to the study of ancient civilizations, sacred geometry, pyramid technologies, megalithic sites, and interdisciplinary scientific research. His field investigations and academic work span more than 60 countries across six continents.

In 2005, Dr. Osmanagich discovered and initiated the Bosnian Pyramid Project, which he continues to lead. Today, it represents the largest active archaeological site in Europe, bringing together scientists, researchers, volunteers, and visitors from around the world.

Education

Dr. Osmanagich completed his primary education at Miljenko Cvitković Elementary School in Sarajevo in 1975 as an outstanding student. He graduated from the Second Gymnasium in Sarajevo in 1979 as Student of the Generation at both the school and city levels, and was awarded the Silver Badge "Ognjen Prica."

He earned a four-year degree in Economics at the Faculty of Economics, University of Sarajevo (1979–1983), graduating with the highest possible grade (10). In parallel, he completed a four-year degree in Political Science at the Faculty of Political Sciences, University of Sarajevo (1980–1984), followed by two additional years of Sociology studies (1985–1987) at the same faculty.

He obtained his Master's degree in International Economics at the University of Sarajevo (1983–1985), graduating with the highest grade; the degree was officially awarded in 1989.

Following extensive field research conducted between 1999 and 2008 on the Maya civilization in Honduras, Mexico, El Salvador, Belize, and Guatemala, Dr. Osmanagich earned his Ph.D. in History of Civilizations in 2008 at the Faculty of Political Sciences, University of Sarajevo. His doctoral dissertation focused on Maya civilization studies.

Scientific Research and Publications

Dr. Osmanagich's scientific work integrates archaeology, geomatics, geophysics, archaeoastronomy, anthropology, public health, environmental science, and energy studies. His research methodology emphasizes empirical field measurements, statistical and geometric modeling, interdisciplinary analysis, and open scientific collaboration.

He is the author of 34 original book titles, published in 52 ISBN editions and translated into 15 languages. His books address ancient civilizations, pyramid science, megalithic engineering, sacred geometry, energy phenomena, and alternative models of human prehistory.

In addition, Dr. Osmanagich has published 35 original research articles in double-blind, peer-reviewed international scientific journals, the majority as sole author, and one co-authored article. He is also the author of peer-reviewed international conference papers, accepted for publication in indexed conference proceedings.

Dr. Osmanagich served as Professor of Anthropology and Director of the Center for Anthropology at the American University in Bosnia and Herzegovina (2010–2011).

Business Career

From 1986 to 1989, Dr. Osmanagich worked as a research associate at the UNIS Institute for Strategic Development in Sarajevo. He later founded and owned the company Meteorit in Sarajevo (1989–1992) and Meteorit 2 in Split (1991–1992). Between 1992 and 1995, he served as a manager at Houston Protectors, Inc.

In 1995, he founded and became president of Met Company, Inc., a manufacturing corporation based in Houston, Texas. The company employed up to 120 workers and operated in the construction, oil, and chemical industries. Dr. Osmanagich concluded his business career in the United States with the sale of the company in 2022.

Impact on Community, Tourism, and Public Engagement

Dr. Osmanagich played a central role in transforming the town of Visoko into a leading cultural and tourist destination in central Bosnia and Herzegovina. Visitor numbers to the Bosnian Valley of the Pyramids increased from 10,000 in 2008 to more than 250,000 visitors in 2024, achieved without financial or organizational support from state institutions.

He is the founder and owner of Ravne 2 – Archaeological, Tourist, and Sports Park, which has become a regional center for archaeology, culture, sports, and art.

Dr. Osmanagich is the first scientist from the Balkans to have delivered a lecture at the Library of Alexandria in Egypt. Each year, he delivers public lectures in approximately 45–50 cities worldwide and has traveled to and conducted research in 100 countries.

Legacy and Ongoing Work

Dr. Sam Osmanagich introduced an interdisciplinary scientific approach to archaeology that challenges conventional interpretations of pyramidal structures. His research proposes that the oldest and most advanced pyramids functioned as energy amplifiers, designed to support environmental balance, human health, water structuring, communication, and the development of human consciousness.

He also pioneered a volunteer-based excavation model in archaeology. Between 2010 and 2026, more than 4,500 volunteers participated in excavations at the Bosnian Pyramid site.

Dr. Osmanagich continues to conduct research, publish peer-reviewed scientific work, and lecture internationally.
